Junior Introduction
Welcome to the Junior Section of the clubs website. The junior pages will inform you about all of the activities that are on offer for its members together with information about competitions, results and playing opportunities that exist both at this club and around the count y for junior players.
How the Junior Section works?
The club has a Junior Organiser Gary Smith who is supported by a Junior committee made up of Alan Vichion, Darren Found, Dale Tanton, Brian Keen and Chris Worthington. They work to organise competitions and fund raising activities for junior members and work in conjunction with the club manager Mark Evans and the Head Professional Iain Parker to provide opportunities for coaching and county representation.
How many Juniors are there at the Club?
In total there are over 80 junior members at RND and this number is growing rapidly. Its easy to see why? The Junior section has a captain appointed each year, it is currently Jimmy Mullen - and a Vice Captain – Ollie Tanton . Many juniors compete in weekend competitions at the club and we have many successful players at county and local level.
The relaxed, fun atmosphere, the fantastic practice facilities and coaching available makes RND the best place to play and learn golf whatever your age or ability.
What facilities are there?
At Royal North Devon Golf Club there are fantastic practice facilities available as well as a Championship golf course that just happens to be the oldest course in England!

JUNIOR COACHING AND COMPETITIONS.
For those juniors who want to improve their game and lower their handicap there are coaching opportunities offered by Professionals Iain Parker and Mike Wilson and Assistant Pro Ross Daniel. Regular sessions run on Saturday mornings from 9.00- 10.00 and 10.00-11.00 and on Sundays from 10.00-11.00 and 11.00-12.00 . These group sessions cost £2.00 per hour and are an excellent way of getting into the game at RND.
The Junior Section organises competitions all year round which vary between medal and stableford events . They hold an annual junior open event and an extensive range of competitions in the school summer holidays. ( See junior competition schedule for dates). Juniors have the opportunity to compete in the EGU National Skills Challenge event as well as a range of competitions organised by the Devon County Junior Golf Society.
North Devon Junior League.
The junior section have a team that plays in the North Devon Junior League managed by Dale Tanton and Brian Keen . This has been a very successful venture over the years and the team are currently the league champions having recently won the 2011 league. ( See NDL page for fixtures and results)
