An ambitious and self-motivated Golf Professional with an extensive understanding of Golf Operations, Golf club management and organisation, Business Management, Sales and Marketing. Proven track record using a modern and flexible coaching strategy successful with all levels of performers.
Objective
Having a wide variety of experience in all aspects of golf operations it is now my ambition to establish myself as head professional at an ambitious and forward thinking golf club. I am looking for an opportunity to put to use the excellent experience that I have gained working in busy and proactive golf club environments to enable myself to build the foundations of my own teaching and retail business as well as enhancing the prosperity of the club I will be employed at, therefore furthering the facilities and services available to that golf clubs members and customers.

Key Achievements
The successful organisation and administration of 4 ladies and 2 men’s open events at Oake Manor G.C. Comprising of up to 200 competitors.

Helping numerous pupils achieve their goals in golf and realise their potentialv

Have developed junior golf in the areas that I have worked in as well as furthering the standard of junior club members (the future of any golf club)
Career History
GOLF PROFESSIONAL-OAKE MANOR GOLF CLUB 1998 to March 2004
I was assistant professional at Oake Manor for over 51/2 years working under Russell Gardner who is a PGA lecturer in Business Management. Oake Manor is a very successful commercial golf club accommodating large numbers of societies, corporate golf days and fee paying visitors as well as managing a large member base. This has enabled me to develop a wide range of people skills through having to deal with a variety of people, all with different requirements.
GOLF PROFESSIONAL-LIMERICK COUNTY GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
March 2004 to Present
I am currently employed at Limerick County G&CC, the club is a young establishment with a very forward thinking and pro-active business strategy developing a growing interest in golf in the city of limerick. Like Oake Manor, Limerick County accommodates both fee paying customers as well as developing a large and varied membership base. The club can also boast the regions most successful and modern driving range and teaching establishment. Being a part of the growing success of the club I have been able to accelerate the development of my coaching skills in addition to furthering my understanding of how to nurture a vibrant club atmosphere, and my understanding of the golf retail business.
During my time at Oake Manor & Limerick County:
I have generated large personal client bases that rely on me for: golf coaching, will come to me for advice on equipment, many have become members of both clubs as well as those who will require golf days organising. I also have groups with whom I play in Pro-Am competitions with and with who I organise international golf holidays.
I have developed a very keen understanding of commercially managing myself, colleagues and the golf shops business.
Have learnt how to organise and manage large numbers of people at the same time, all of whom have their own needs and requirements

Qualifications
PGA National Diploma- passed all 3 years with overall Merit grade, having excelled in Golf swing theory and practice, Business Management and Equipment Technology. Achieving Consistent Distinction grades throughout my training in both assignments and examinations.
Completed final year optional dissertation on ‘Comparing and contrasting top-class Golf Coach's and performers’. - Passed with Distinction

Leisure Interests
As well as playing golf professionally and recreationally I also have a keen interest in other sports and activities. I enjoy football, cricket and horse racing (through one of my pupils being the head trainer for Martin Pipe’s stables). When I was younger I represented my town and district sides playing football. I was chosen to attend The Nottingham School of excellence as well as having trials for Sheffield Wednesday FC in 1993/4 season that at the time were a top Premiere League team. I am also interested in travelling, reading, socialising and attending top golf tournaments.
