This year we have spearheaded a new initiative that is designed to help all the golfers at Royal North Devon improve their golf.

The golf academy membership is designed to help golfers improve their all round game steadily over a greater period of time than the standard lesson packages. The program is structured so that I, the coach can plot how we are going to improve your golf game and set out a structured ''road map to improvement'' over a period of between 6 months and a year.

Once we have got your game to where we want it, the program allows us to keep an eye on how you are progressing and allow you to carry on improving steadily, instead of slipping backwards. Which can happen once a typical package of lessons has finished.

Golf Academy membership includes:

  • 1 lesson per month, or 12 lessons per year (usually costing £17.50 each)
  • 1 digital video lesson with a free DVD of your swing
  • FREE clinics throughout the year for golf academy members

Golf Academy Success!!!

2006 was the first year for the golf academy and i was quite taken aback by how popular the scheme has become. Over the year I have had 30 people take up the membership and i have been very please with the results of those who have dedicated themselves to the program.

  • In total in the 10 months that the academy has been running in total the overall handicap of the group has been reduced by 30 shots.
  • since the academy started the members have won over £1500 in prize money in club competition alone
  • Members have won many major trophies at the club this year:

As well as all these first place victories there have been many top 5 finishes by many academy members this year
