Event two of the Winter Foursomes Series took place on Sunday 2nd December on a blustery but thankfully dry day. The scoring was excellent with most pairs taking advantage of the scoring opportunities presented down wind, with today's event being played off the Red tees. With an excellent score of 42 points the winning pair were Chris Drew and Martin Gibbs. 40 points meant Mark Luscombe and Steve Morrish took 2nd, with Martin Butler and Shaun Loze taking the third and final prize on...

The Mens Dinner is an annual event at the Club which involves an evening Dinner, usually with a speaker and then a "live" draw for partners prior to an American Foursomes golf match the following morning. In 2014 we had 80 entries which is the maximum number. There is a "Tote" run after the dinner in which members can wager on the following days pairings that have been drawn out of the hat. For 2019 the winners of the "Monthly Medals" over the preceding year will get free entry to the dinner - a...

With the weather finally turning colder we will see the grass growth start to slow. The greens are currently performing well and head into the winter in good health. We will bring the height of cut on the greens up to 5mm and start to reduce our cutting regime. This will help protect them through the upcoming winter months. It is now imperative that we repair as many pitch marks as we can, because any damage now sustained will not recover until the grass actively starts growing again in the spri...

The points scoring system made for a close finish, which we will hope will be the case again this year. How it works: Players sign up individually online to enter the Winter Foursomes O...
RND crowned champions as they clinch dramatic Rosebowl win! On Sunday 16th September our mens team took on Saunton in the North Devon Rosebowl final at Portmore. We teed off on a windy day under dark skies, boosted by the support of a number of caddies and spectators who came along to help cheer the team on. The first match saw Paul Wilson and Chris Drew fight it out in what was a close contest throughout. Giving 2 shots, the RND pair could never forge ahead in the match, which was extrem...
The course has undergone a sustained attack from the sea for all of the time it has existed and during the winter of 2017/18 we lost over 20ft of sand dune beside the 7th green which took half of the 8th Championship tee completely. The 7th green is now only about 35ft from the edge of the erosion. It was decided by the committee that a redesign of the affected area of the course was urgently necessary to ensure that we will always have 18 Championship golf holes worthy of the title "The oldest ...

Parker Trophy Team Defeated In Close Quarter Final Our Parker Trophy team were defeated 2-1 by Exeter last week in the Quarter Final of the scratch county knockout event on a very firm and fast running Tiverton course. The first pair of Ollie Tanton and Blair McHarg put in a strong performance, led by an excellent display of ball striking from Blair, and the usual magic on the greens from Ollie. They wrapped up the win 2 & 1 in what had been a tight ...
