In November 2022 our Ladies Captain, Ruth Davies, chose the Devon Air Ambulance Trust as her charity. DAAT celebrated their 30th anniversary in 2023. Significant progress has been achieved by the Charity over this period including the establishment of more than 190 community landing sites, the introduction of two critical care cars and the addition of a brand new H145 helicopter to their fleet. Congratulations to The RND ladies for winning the North Devon Friendly League and bringing home the Rose Bowl for the second successive year. The team had a fantastic start to the season by winning their first four matches against Saunton and Torrington, both at home and away. The Ladies Presidents Trophy Team won all their group matches to qualify for the Quarter finals, they beat East Devon and went on to play Okehampton at Torquay. We had to be there by 9.30am which was a real effort for some. It was a lovely morning, not too hot or windy and the course was in excellent condition with exceptionally fast greens. Every year the Vets and the Ladies sections select a charity that they will support for the year. Usually they are different but in 2020 we have a husband and wife team at the helm of both sections. The Veterans are Captained by Andy Hood and The Ladies by Denise Hood. The Vets Open in June will benefit the Charity as well as Andy's Captains "Away Day" in September. Golfing Girls Generosity gifts £3000+ to North Devon Hospice

The golfing ladies at RND have been fundraising all year for the Captains charity, the North Devon Hospice. At a well-attended ladies AGM retiring captain Tania Wickham was delighted to hand over a cheque for £3,093.37 to Jess Burford-Redgrove, Community and Events Fundraiser at North Devon Hospice, on behalf of all the ladies. RND ladies win Killard Leavy Cup

A great win at the Killard Leavy Cup competition at Honiton Golf Club for ladies captain Tania Wickham and partner Pauline Marais. The Killard Leavy Cup is a foursomes, stableford competition run by DCVLGA for lady veterans. In tricky conditions the pair coped better than the rest of the field and were delighted with their win.  Congratulations Tania and Pauline, a fantastic achievement.

Yesterday the Sheelah Creasy team of ladies from RND travelled to Holsworthy to play in the quarter-finals at Holsworthy. This is a matchplay competition for handicaps 21 and above.  The weather was horrendous with gales and driving rain. Coronation Foursomes Winners of the Coronation Foursomes at RND were Margaret Ellicott and Ruth Horn with 41 points. They now go through to the regional finals with their score being in the top 100 in the South West. Ladies Sheelah Creasy Bowl first home game

Friday marked the first home game of the Sheelah Creasy Bowl, a Devon ladies singles match play competition for handicaps 21-36. It was a chilly start but it soon warmed up with a light wind. The course proved a step too far for the Exeter ladies who found the tight lies, bunkers and rushes galore a tough call. New air power cleaner

The Ladies are delighted to have been able to donate the funds for this new air cleaner. The money came from the excess raised for our 150th celebrations last year. Since then we have been looking for a suitable item we could buy for use by the whole club and we hope this air cleaner will be a huge benefit to us all.
