Sunday 5th June saw RND’S Palairet Trophy team take on local rivals Portmore on the goat hills of Ilfracombe Golf Club. With the course in fine condition and greens running fast and true it made for a fine match. A fairly mild start to the day saw fairly heavy rain come in, with most matches soaked by the end of the game. ‘A strong easterly wind made playing conditions difficult’. A fantastic winning score of 40 points saw Steven Sherry and Neil Crossman take the trophy. Second place, on 36 points was Tom Boundy and Jack Smallridge. Third was the never ageing Bryan Palmer, playing with a much younger Peter Slee also with 36 points. Event two of the Winter Foursomes Series took place on Sunday 2nd December on a blustery but thankfully dry day. The scoring was excellent with most pairs taking advantage of the scoring opportunities presented down wind, with today's event being played off the Red tees. RND crowned champions as they clinch dramatic Rosebowl win! On Sunday 16th September our mens team took on Saunton in the North Devon Rosebowl final at Portmore. We teed off on a windy day under dark skies, boosted by the support of a number of caddies and spectators who came along to help cheer the team on.
