The Vets through 1st Round of Emerton Court

emeron court at torringtonAfter an excellent 7/3 victory against Bigbury in The Emerton Court preliminaries our Vets team played Torrington away in the first half of the first round. This is played Home and Away and the total counted after both matches.

The weather was awful but the team prevailed with a winning margin of 4.5 - 0.5 the individual results were as follows:

Hood and Sykes getting the half.
Fisher and Brown winning on the last
Horne and Stubbs winning comfortably
White and Fenton 2&1
Miller and Wickham were 3 down after 8 and won a real fighting match on the last!

  • Must visit, RND is the oldest golf club in England and has excellent facilities and practice areas. You get to share the course with ponies roaming close by and at the end of the round enjoy some lovely food from the restaurant whilst looking out across the horizon. Wonderful staff, help you enjoy the experience of this treasured gem.
  • At points wide open. The rushes and bushes are what will swallow your ball. The thing that makes this course tricky will always be fighting the wind and judging yardage. Greens true and well paced. Starter was helpful. Clubhouse like a museum of history
