Vets and Ladies Captains supporting Prostate Cancer for 2020

prostate cancer turned

Every year the Vets and the Ladies sections select a charity that they will support for the year. Usually they are different but in 2020 we have a husband and wife team at the helm of both sections.

The Veterans are Captained by Andy Hood and The Ladies by Denise Hood.

The Vets Open in June will benefit the Charity as well as Andy's Captains "Away Day" in September.

Andy is a survivor of Prostate Cancer so they will both be supporting Prostate Cancer UK.

Prostate Cancer UK's top priority is funding research to stop prostate cancer killing men. They are investing millions to find better treatments and better tests that can spot fast-growing cancers early, and could be used in a screening programme to save thousands of lives.

You can help both Captains by buying a badge from the bar in the Club.

  • Must visit, RND is the oldest golf club in England and has excellent facilities and practice areas. You get to share the course with ponies roaming close by and at the end of the round enjoy some lovely food from the restaurant whilst looking out across the horizon. Wonderful staff, help you enjoy the experience of this treasured gem.
  • At points wide open. The rushes and bushes are what will swallow your ball. The thing that makes this course tricky will always be fighting the wind and judging yardage. Greens true and well paced. Starter was helpful. Clubhouse like a museum of history
