RNDGC welcomed Plymouth Marjon University for their first Match of the season on a breezy overcast February afternoon.

Ben Brace led the way for RNDGC splitting the first fairway on his way to claiming the first point with a hard fought 2 and 1 win.

Second out was the irrepressible Stephen Flood claiming a 8&7 win against a fellow scratch player with some immaculate play in tough conditions.

Next was Chris Hampton who in his own words was done up like a kipper and he suffered an eye catching 7&6 loss to hand Marjon their first point.

Fourth out was Shaun Loze playing against Marjons newest player and after gifting Shaun 3 of the first 5 holes played well to keep the game tight eventually losing 5&3.

Last out was Neil Armstrong playing against Marjons mastermind and Top Coach Josh Salmon, In a very close match Josh eventually Beat Neil on the 16th for a 3&2 win.

RNDGC won 3-2 and look forward to the return fixture later this year.

  • We had a great Sunday Lunch here today. Everything cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend.
  • Very friendly place which still retains much of its Old world charm whilst moving into the modern times,. especially the standard and quality of the Restaurant and Social side of Golf Club Life. As far as my friends and I are concerned, It is the place to go.
  • Awesome golf course in an unreal setting and very well maintained, highly recommend playing here if you get the chance. Demanding but fair course that makes you think. If you’re getting a caddie ask for Dave, great guy who knows his stuff
