What is included in the program
Why give golf a go?:
You're never too old or too young to start,
we have golfers who started as toddlers and female golfers who are in their late 80s! Once the golfing bug has bitten, you'll love it for life.
Golf for friendship
Golf is a social sport. Appealing to the multi-tasking people out there, golf enables you to exercise and catch up with friends at the same time! Whether you play one of our short courses for an hour, or play the full 18 holes over four hours, you can chat between holes, and then relax with a coffee, beer, or glass of wine in the bar afterwards.
Golf's unique handicap scoring system means that players of all levels can play together either socially or competitively - it's an even playing field.
Golf for fitness
According to "˜Get Into Golf', "Golf can help keep you active, burn calories, stay in shape, lower cholesterol, reduce the risk of heart disease and research shows it may even help you live longer. You can walk around 4-5 miles in the average game of golf, burn at least 900 calories and will take more than 10,000 steps, you will easily achieve the recommended 150 minutes of moderate exercise a week recommended by the NHS to keep healthy."
Golf for getting outdoors
Top up your vitamin D with an hour or two in the sunlight. Exercising outdoors is a scientifically-proven way to help improve your mood, stress levels and self-esteem.
Golf for all the family
Have friends or family members who already play? Why not join and learn to play alongside friends, children or partners? Golf is a great game for all ages and abilities, and we have memberships to suit everyone here at RND
Academy membership is to allow new golfers and those returning to the game to experience a structured, low cost, social way to become fully fledged golfers capable of playing and competing on the main golf course and to attain a CONGU handicap.
