Winter Foursomes League - 2019/20
This winter will see the return of the RND Winter Foursomes order of merit, where players earn points based on their finishing position in each of 5 events scheduled from November to March (dates below).
Steve Morrish won last years series, closely followed by Richard Hughes and Chris Drew in 2nd and 3rd place. The points scoring system made for a close finish, which we will hope will be the case again this year.
The event has a great prize fund and we'd really like to see a good entry again this winter.
How it works:
Players sign up individually online to enter the Winter Foursomes Order of Merit by entering all 5 events online. The cost is £5 per event. Those players who play in all of events 1 to 4, can play in event 5 free of charge. For everyone else it will remain £5 entry.
The format is foursomes stableford, half combined handicap, with partners to be drawn. You can only play with the same person twice during the series, so if you happen to be drawn together for the 3rd time there will be a redraw. We will play off a selection of different tee's during the season depending on weather conditions.
In the case that we have an odd number or a partner does not turn up, the remaining odd player will play Individual Stableford with 90% handicap allowance.
Maximum handicap - 24.
This has been increased slightly this year to allow for those squad players looking to compete in the high handicap cup for RND. The Winter Foursomes is open to any male member of the club with a handicap of 24 or better.
The aim being to improve the performance of our club teams by finding new pairings and giving current players the chance to play foursomes with a range of other players. Building off our success in the Rosebowl last year we are hoping for a good entry to the Winter Foursomes again this year so we can push on to more silverware.
Competitors must confirm their intent to play in each event online prior to the draw being made for that event. The draw will be made at least 3 days prior to the event with tee times posted online.
