Winter Foursomes 2018/19
This winter will see the return of the RND Winter Foursomes order of merit, where players earn points based on their finishing position in each of 5 events scheduled from November to March (dates below).
Simon Trapnell won last years series, closely followed by Richard Hughes and Ewan Butler in 2nd and 3rd place. The points scoring system made for a close finish, which we will hope will be the case again this year.
How it works:
Players sign up individually online to enter the Winter Foursomes Order of Merit and pay the season entry fee of £20. This gives entry into all 5 events. Players may still enter after the order of merit has started, but will pay £5 per event.
In order to sign up please enter each of the 5 events online as usual. You will be required to pay your £20 on signup to the first event. Once you have paid, you can enter all of the future events and do not need to pay again. The format is foursomes stableford, half combined handicap, with partners to be drawn. You can only play with the same person twice during the series, so if you happen to be drawn together for the 3rd time there will be a redraw. We will play off a selection of different tee's during the season depending on weather conditions.
In the case that we have an odd number or a partner does not turn up, the remaining odd player will play Individual Stableford with 90% handicap allowance.
Maximum handicap - 20. This is in line with the handicap limit imposed on county knockout events.
The aim being to improve the performance of our club teams by finding new pairings and giving current players the chance to play foursomes with a range of other players. Fresh off our success in the Rosebowl we are hoping for a good entry to the Winter Foursomes again this year so we can push on to more silverware.
Competitors must confirm their intent to play in each event online prior to the draw being made for that event. The draw will be made at least 3 days prior to the event with tee times posted online.
