Winter Foursomes Round 1 of 5

Winter foursomes first roundCongratulations to Mark Lee and Shaun Smalldon who today won the first instalment of the 18/19 Winter Foursomes Series with an excellent 38 points. Richard Hughes and Steve Morrish came home in 2nd place with 37, and Chris Hampton and Richard Wilford completed the top 3 with 36 points.

The Winter Foursomes series is a great chance to practice foursomes golf over the winter in the lead up to the new season. It is also a route into the club teams, and a chance to unearth new pairings, as well as a chance to play in a great event with good prize money. It is open to all male members with handicaps of 20 or lower. 

After the first event the Order of Merit table is below, with a players best 3 out of 5 scores to count.

  • Here for lunch only very nice food reasonably priced great views out over the golf course
  • Must visit, RND is the oldest golf club in England and has excellent facilities and practice areas. You get to share the course with ponies roaming close by and at the end of the round enjoy some lovely food from the restaurant whilst looking out across the horizon. Wonderful staff, help you enjoy the experience of this treasured gem.
  • At points wide open. The rushes and bushes are what will swallow your ball. The thing that makes this course tricky will always be fighting the wind and judging yardage. Greens true and well paced. Starter was helpful. Clubhouse like a museum of history
